Welcome to part one of my three part series featuring all things festival wear. I meant to get this post out yesterday, but it seems like in just the past week, things in my life have just blown up. I’ll fill you in on all the details in a near future post, but let’s just say, that this fall will definitely be the busiest time of year for me. Since the weather starts to cool down a little in the fall (and when I say cool down, I mean 70s and 80s), it seems like every festival/show/vacation/event in Texas is schedule for the fall. So I’ll be taking these last few weeks in August to RELAX, and mentally prepare myself for the madness that is to come, starting at the end of August.
I’m also SUPER pumped, because just today, my friend and I decided to book an air bnb for a 10-night stay in Palm Springs! We’re living out my dream scenario, and will be attending weekend two of Coachella, chilling out in Palm Springs for the week, then end our vacay with Stagecoach the following weekend. This is a trip I’ve been wanting to do for YEARS, so not to be too dramatic, but my dreams are finally coming true. Nothing like planning 9 months ahead, am I right??
Anyways, back to my festival wear series. All three of my posts in this series features a certain category of festival wear. It’s pretty simple – you can break festival looks down to 3 distinct styles: rave, bohemian and rock ‘n’ roll. This week, I’m bringing you all things rave. Funny thing is, this look turned out to be more western than actual rave. I guess the fringe and cute motel location that we shot at, had something to do with it. So, I’m calling this my Western Rave look. For all you Texans out there, you always need to incorporate a little of that Texas style in to your look, especially if you’re traveling to a festival outside of the state. No matter the type of festival, you gotta rep the great state, that is Texas.
I LOVE all things rave. There’s nothing more fun than rocking a bodysuit, or, in the case of my Coachella 2016 look, a full catsuit with a matching kimono. Rave looks are probably the most fun you can have when dressing for a festival, and this amazing bodysuit is no different. I’ve linked this look, + similar western-style bodysuits below, all under $100. So get your next western rave look, and so you can shake that fringe all night long.
