This past week/weekend has been a crazy one, with lots of events/modeling jobs. It’s been a little over a year since I launched my blog, and I’m now finally starting to get some paid opportunities (yaayyy) – whether it be for brands or modeling jobs. Here’s a look at one of the busier weeks for me:
Tuesday: I got invited to the advanced screening of A Simple Favor through Fons PR – a PR company that focuses on the film and entertainment industry. The movie was at the Alamo Drafthouse – my first time attending this type of theater. If you haven’t gone yet, definitely look up the nearest theater to you. It’s the type of theater with extra large recliners, and a full dinner and drink menu. They even have table trays at your seat, and you have a personal waiter that is there to serve you throughout the movie. Safe to say, you won’t be able to go back to those basic movie theaters ever again, after the Alamo Drafthouse experience. Also, the move was extremely WILD. Definitely a lot different than the previews make the movie look. It’s still extremely suspenseful, but it has a lot more comedic elements in it than I expected. Overall review was 5 stars for me.
Thursday: Another advanced preview night, except this one was for The FOMO Factory – Austin’s first immersive art pop up museum (think Museum of Ice Cream vibes). They held an influencer night, the night before they opened to the public (the museum is open in downtown Austin now through October 21st). Myself and fellow influencer/friend Haleigh came along, and she brought her husband, who was such a great sport and took all our photos/videos of us (still looking for my IG husband, f.y.i). Each room of the museum is a different theme, with the goal of transporting you back to your childhood. Rooms like the school room, complete with lockers and a game of MASH, a room with swings, teeter totter and hula hoops, and my personal fave, the prom room. A room decked out in silver, shimmery streamers, disco balls, and a larger-than-life moon sculpture to pose by – a.k.a. the PERFECT backdrop for your IG photo. The tour ended in the ball pit room, that was complete with a fully stocked bar, (drinks provided by BeatBox Beverages and Snapple), a Tex-Mex appetizer buffet, and cupcakes (both of which I refrained from eating – proud of myself for that one). Pretty much the best influencer event I’ve been to yet.
Saturday: Saturday was spent in Fredericksburg, Texas at an all day shoot with Magnolia Pearl for their fall collection. The look behind the Magnolia Pearl brand is like none I’ve seen before. They stick to a very specific style, with over-sized clothes made from the softest cotton fabrics. We shot on-site, where their flagship store is located. It’s more like an entire compound, with the most amazing silo/home that’s located behind the store. We shot inside the silo, and it made for such a unique look. Check out all the photos from the shoot on the Magnolia Pearl site.
Sunday: Another full day of shooting. I met up with local Austin photographer and videographer Todd White, for a fun shoot over in East Austin. Todd reached out to me over a month ago, wanting to create some content together, and we finally were able to meet up this past weekend. Can’t wait to show you guys all the photos/video once they’re ready! From there, I headed over to a shoot with Elisha Marie Jewelry, which is a beautifully minimal jewelry brand based out of Austin. I modeling for them at another indoor studio location. The owner, Elisha, was onsite, so it was cool to be able to meet the designer behind the brand.
That’s pretty much it! I like to share my weekly recap, especially for other bloggers or anyone who is thinking about starting a blog, so you guys can get an idea of what a week looks like for a newer blogger, such as myself.
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I’ll be attending my first UT Longhorns football game tomorrow, and I’m super pumped – Hook ‘Em!
