This past week has been so crazy, in a good way. Lot’s of exciting opportunities have been coming my way as of late with this whole blogging thing. And while I’m coming up on 1 year since I launched my blog, I can honestly say I’m happy with where I am in this process. Because this past week has been so busy and full of some fun opportunities, I wanted to share with you guys some projects I’ve been working on, plus showcase this “white boots + bathing suits” look, that you can shop at the bottom of this page.
Monday was kind of a whirlwind. A photographer from Houston, Katya, reached out to me via Instagram DM, wanting to collaborate on a shoot together (it’s amazing the connections and opportunities that have come my way via meeting people on Insta!) After a couple emails were exchanged, we agreed on planning a shoot at Enchanted Rock – a place both of us have been dying to shoot at for a while. If you aren’t too familiar with the Texas Hill Country, it’s one of the best places to experience the hills of Texas. The most beautiful trails to hike on, and the famous Summit Peak, where you can hike to the very top of the tallest rock in the park. The views from the top are sooo to die, I’d highly recommend. Since the park is about an hour and 20 minute drive from Austin, I woke up at 5:15am, and was out the door by 6:15am. We got to the park at 8am, and spent the whole morning, and a little of the early afternoon, creating some pretty awesome content. I got back home at about 2:30pm, and instantly fell into my bed for a 3 hour nap LOL I made sure to set my alarm, so I wouldn’t miss night 2 of The Bachelorette OBVIOUSLY.
Tuesday was another big shoot day. About a week earlier, I received an email from The Vintage Round Top to participate in a collaborative shoot for their vacation rental home property in Round Top, TX. As soon as I receive the photos, I’m going to do a whole feature on The Vintage Round Top brand, because it’s simply so cool. Just to give you a little sneak peak, The Vintage Round Top is based around Round Top’s Antique Week, which is held twice a year. Basically, think of all the vintage farmhouse shopping you could ever hope for, and then multiple that by 10. It’s turned the extremely tiny town of Round Top into a tourist destination, during those 2, 15-day periods. It was so fun getting to meet the people behind the brand, and make connections with other creatives in Texas who have very similar styles as my brand. Can’t wait to show you guys all the content we created. Stay tuned!
After two days in a row of full-day shoots, I treated myself to a much -needed full body massage. I’ve been having shoulder and neck issues lately, and although I’ve always had tight shoulders, it’s gotten worse over the past few months. It’s mostly a reoccurring pain in my right shoulder/neck area, and it’s just enough pain to be annoying, but not extreme enough to where it hinders my day. So, I thought it best to hit up Myo Massage and book the Myo 60. It was a 1 hour, full body massage, with a focus on my neck and shoulders. It was just what I needed to destress and detox.
If you’re in the Austin area, I HIGHLY suggest checking out Myo Massage. They offer a ton of different types of treatments. On my short list for next session is the Lymphatic Drainage massage (a massage that focuses on stimulating the lymphatic drainage system, to re-circulate body fluids, stimulate the immune system and promote relaxation and balance), the Deep Tissue massage (Focuses on a specific area of tension for the entire session – in my case, my shoulders and neck), and the Craniosacral Therapy massage (massage for your head, which, in my opinion, feels more amazing than any other type of massage you could ever have).
Friday evening was spent staying in, working on random blog projects, and ordering a totally impractical, but totally fun bodysuit from Missguided that I cannot WAIT to shoot. Right now, they’re having a 50% off sale, so I justified my purchase by using their discount code, GOBABE. Yea, this is what happens when I stay in alone and bored on a Friday night. I’m not even sorry about it.
Saturday evening/night was spent at the music festival Anjunadeep Open Air out at Carson Creek Ranch in Austin. It was one of the most chill festival set-ups I’ve ever been to. One stage, right on the Colorado River, and 6 DJ’s, all performing back-to-back. It was 8 hours of non-stop deep house music, aka, my personal heaven.
This was my first festival I’ve been to since moving, and I was excited to get a taste of the festival scene down in Texas. I was an expert with the festival scene in Chicago. I almost NEVER missed any EDM music festival that was put on, but after experiencing the scene down here, it makes me so happy knowing that the love of good music doesn’t stop when I move outside my comfort zone. It truly was an amazing Saturday.
Sunday was spent recovering from 8 hours of dancing the day before, along with church and a movie with the sis (we saw Ocean’s 8 – Sandra Bullock NEVER disappoints).
All in all, a fun and busy week, AND gearing up for another round this week. I’m thinking of posting another recap from this week’s adventures. What do you guys think? Do you want me to post more recaps involving various blog projects that I’m working on??
