I’ve always been a creative person – not so much in drawing, or creating art with my hands, but rather, in my visions and outlook on life. I see the possibility in ordinary things, and am constantly inspired by other bloggers + fashion outlets.
I know what some may be thinking – I’m just another girl in her 20’s, who’s trying to make it big on Instagram. And I may not look “different” from the rest of the influencers out there, but I’ve always FELT different, creatively.
I started to channel my inner-creativity when I started attending music festivals. The fashion, culture, and people, all dressed in wild, outrageous outfits, doing wild and outrageous things, not caring what anyone else thought of them. It was so refreshing, especially just coming out of college, where a lot of people in my sorority were super judgmental when it came to anything that seemed different.
I just couldn’t get enough of the festival scene. I fed off of the energy of the people, and learned to revel in the beauty of thinking and acting differently. It was such a freeing experience.
From those experiences, I took with me my love of weird, underground electronic music, jam band sounds, and songs with the same beat for a half an hour at a time. In short, lots of sounds that most people don’t understand. But for me, it’s about the FEELING a certain song or sound gives you.
The same goes for fashion and photography. I like to think that I’ve also carried my love for fun fashion looks and images with me into my influencer space. Throughout my day, I’m CONSTANTLY brainstorming new poses, locations, and ideas for a shoot. I’m OBSESSED with the creative process, so thank God that this blogging thing came around at perfect time – a time where I was running on a high off of my music festival experiences, and young enough to where I had the time and energy to put into getting things started.
I believe every soul has a creative side. Creativity doesn’t have to be through style or fashion. You can channel that creative side through your love of a certain type of music, poetry, critical thinking, reading, writing, relationships with others – the possibilities are truly endless. I challenge each of you to channel your creative side. You may be surprised what awakens inside of you – possibly a love for something you never could have imagined before.
There’s a direct correlation between art and fashion, and I’m just here, trying my best to put a little of my own creative vision into the world.
