Big thank you to Roger Beasley Mazda for sponsoring this post – all opinions are my own.
Last month, I got to sport this cute, little Mazda Miata around town, thanks to Roger Beasley Mazda, the Mazda dealership in Austin. I had previously borrowed the Mazda CX-5, and was waiting for the summer season to try out the convertible. There’s just something about driving around town, on a perfectly sunny day, with the top down, blaring my fave Tame Impala record, that makes me feel wayyy cooler than I actually am.
To take full advantage of the Miata experience, my sister and I took a little day trip out to Wimberley Texas – a small town about an hour south of Austin. This was our first time visiting this little hill-country town, and it was just perfect for a little Sunday getaway. There are a ton of local, boutique shops on the square, along with little cafes restaurants. We first stopped at the Wimberley Cafe for brunch, then walked the square and did a little boutique shopping. My fave store was Wall Street Western – an endless amount of cowboy boots and vintage, western rodeo jackets. There was also a cute antique shop, UnknowableYou, that kind of looked liked a vintage garage sale, with all of the furniture out on the lawn, in front of the store. I just love little shops like that – it brings so much character to a town like Wimberley. We also stopped in Ino’z, a restaurant and bar that has live music and seating right out on the Cypress Creek. Totally perfect for a Sunday Funday.
If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend taking a day-trip to the town of Wimberley. Driving through the Texas hill country in my Miata with the top down, wind in my hair, on a warm, Texas summer day – there’s just nothing better.
