Big thank you to Orangetheory Fitness for sponsoring this post – all opinions are my own.
For the months of February and March, Orangetheory hosted the Transformation Challenge – a challenge that tracks your weight loss on a weekly basis, while attending Orangetheory classes. Participants had the opportunity to win up to $15,000 in cash prizes, based on their results, and this past week marked the last week of that challenge.
While I didn’t personally take part in the challenge, (weight loss isn’t something I’m focused on in my fitness routine, at the moment), Orangetheory has encouraged me to create my own “transformation challenge”. So, I thought I’d share a little with you guys on how I’ve been challenging myself in my fitness routine and with my overall health.
At the start of my year, I shared with you guys a few of my goals for 2018, and my first goal was to step up my fitness and nutrition routines. I wanted to stay on a consistent workout routine, and so far, I’ve done a pretty good job of that, with the help of Orangetheory fitness. Orangetheory has definitely made me step up my workouts, and has pushed me farther than other classes have. I don’t usually sweat in most fitness classes, but Orangetheory has totally changed that. I walk out of each class sweaty, and exhausted, but feeling sooo accomplished. I’ve also been looking for workouts that incorporate more cardio and and bring me an increased heart rate. The Orangetheory classes do all of that – especially the treadmill portion of class, where your heart rate is at it’s highest, and you push yourself the farthest.
The Orangetheory Fitness Challenge participants have also been a constant motivator for me. I see everyone else in class who are participating in the challenge, and how dedicated they are to showing up every week. It makes me hold myself accountable, as well. I know it’s cheesy to say, but it’s so encouraging when you’re surrounded by others who are focused on being the best versions of themselves they can be.
Another component of the Orangetheory Transformation Challenge is eating clean. Since the start of this year, I’ve tried my best to maintain low carb and low sugar eating habits (except on the occasional weekend where I’ll splurge on my pizza and breadsticks and not feel AT ALL guilty about it), and this is something I’m constantly going to focus on throughout this year. I mean, I just FEEL better, mentally and physically, when I’m eating clean. Can anyone else relate?
I encourage you guys to create your own transformation challenge. What are one or two areas you could see yourself improving on in terms of fitness and/or nutrition? I would love to hear what goals you have set for yourselves! And if you’re looking for a way to hold yourself accountable, be sure to check our your local Orangetheory studio, and ask about their upcoming challenges! Also, you can go to theorangezone.com and sign up for 1 session and get the second session free!
As if you needed ANOTHER reason to try Orangetheory, they also are helping to find a cure for ALS! This past month, Orangetheory studios all over the nation held a fundraising campaign for Augie’s Quest, an organization working to find a cure for ALS. The Central Texas area studios raised over $80,000 for Augie’s Quest, which will help further research on finding a cure! Read all about ALS and Augie’s Quest, to learn more.
