Big thank you to Coco Coquette for sponsoring this post – all opinions are my own.
I’ve low-key always been really into wigs, ever since Kylie Jenner and her teenage self would wear a different wig around Calabasas every other day. Major props to her for wearing that cotton-candy blue wig, or super chic blonde wig out on a regular day, running errands – not just to red carpet premieres. Totally not kidding when I say I really WOULD wear wigs out to the grocery store and dinner, if people wouldn’t look at me like I was totally insane (hey, gotta draw the line somewhere, right?…)
So luckily, I have this whole content creation thing, where I CAN channel my alter-ego (yes, there’s more than one), and play around with wigs during my shoots. This was the first shoot I did with a wig – big thanks to Coco Coquette for hooking me up with this fun blonde wig, called the “Nadine” – and I gotta admit, I felt pretty silly when I first put this on and started shooting with it. But after seeing all the photos, I’m really happy with how they turned out, and I’m happy that I did something a little more costume-y and outside my comfort zone.
Wigs are a reminder to not take yourself so seriously. You can be anyone you want, and look however you want, with the right wig. I want to do another shoot with more wigs and different colors! I’m even thinking of wearing a wig to one day of Coachella – what do you all think?? TOO extra? I know that’s hard to be at Coachella, but we will see!
