Hellloooo friends! What’s everyone up to this weekend?? If you know anything about South by Southwest (SXSW), then you know that Austin is THE place to be this weekend, and through next week. For the locals, that means even worse traffic than we already experience (locals LOVE to complain about the Austin traffic), and crazy people running around for the next 10 days, taking over our town. But, I absolutely love it. How lucky am I that Austin is host to one of THE most innovative festivals for people in the creative industries, and I’m so lucky it’s happening in my backyard. I’ll be spending my weekend hopping around to various SXSW events. If you couldn’t make the trip down this year, follow along on my IG stories for all the coverage this weekend.
Now, onto me and Kitty. I spontaneously decided to bring my little cat into my photoshoot while I was back home for the holidays. These photos have been sitting in my folder for a while, so I thought I’d better get around to posting them. My cat’s name is Kitty (because, what else do you call a cat?…), and she’s full-grown at 7 pounds. I got sooo lucky I got a naturally teeny, tiny cat. I also got lucky that she’s a sweet cat (I’ve heard so many horror stories about mean cats). I treat her like a dog – she plays fetch with me, and cuddles by my side (sometimes on top of my chest), every night. I could go on about my love for my little Kitty, but I don’t want to sound too much like a crazy cat lady, so I’ll spare you guys. LOL
Let me be clear, I’ve ALWAYS been a dog person. I grew up with 4 dogs, and no cats. I randomly decided to get a cat right after I graduated, and right before I moved to Chicago. When I first moved to Chicago, I lived alone, so I just knew I needed something around to keep me company. I also knew there was no way I could take care of a dog at the time, so I thought a cat would be an easy alternative. So now, I consider myself a dog person, AND a Kitty person. Kitty’s been by my side since my first summer as a real “adult,” so for that, she’s the best.
Any of you guys have your own little Kitty? xoxo
